TransFormation

Intensive contemporary dance workshop - Spring 2008

Two weeks of technique, improvisation, partnering and creative process for professional and pre-professional dancers with established teachers and choreographers. This 2nd edition of TransFormation will be held in the studios of UQAM's dance department in Montreal from May 26th to June 6, 2008 during the TransAmériques Dance and Theatre Festival.

For this 2nd edition, TransFormation Danse is proud to offer an experienced, inspired and unique faculty. It's with great enthusiasm that we invite you to join this group of 9 teachers, 3 musicians and 60 dancers who will challenge time, movement and space.

TransFormation is a 70 hour dance intensive that puts the emphasis on experiencing a creative process with established choreographers and a final presentation of the work.

  • The morning (9:30 to 1:30 p.m.) focuses on developing better technical and artistic abilities in contemporary, improvisational and partnering dance classes.
  • The afternoon's (2:30 to 6:00 p.m.) objective is to expand the interpretive capabilities as well as experience a professional creative process with a chosen choreographer.
  • The evenings and week-ends participants have a wide choice of dance shows to see. The International Festival TransAmériques offers a program from May 21st to June 5th 2008 which features numerous renowned dance and theatre companies from Montreal and abroad.
